Sorry, not sorry.
Made for the Crumplbangers challenge “Finish an old, abandoned project”
The oldest unfinished track I could find on my hard drive was this garageband project just called ‘duabass’.
At some point (long before saramwrap/Richest Llama’s “everything works with Levitating” meme) I had the idea to combine the instrumental to Dua Lipa’s Levitating with juliaplaysgroove’s Bass cover of it from YouTube and then mash that up with some new vocals.
This was before I’d really discovered spleeter, but I’d got as far as decently messing with the wavelengths enough to strip juliaplaysgroove’s video back to mostly the bass (and hide as much of Dua’s original vocal as I could) and remove most of the bass from Dua’s original and the file had a couple of vocals I was trying but weren’t lining up.
Today I went in, fixed some of the EQ and looped some sections to get it to fit the NIN vocal where it wasn’t working at all. It’s SUPER bassy, and I’m still not sure I’ve got the EQ quite right with the limiter but I wanted the bass to be the star.
